Black Carl is a a band whose music is inspired by classic soul musicians such as Otis Redding and Bill Withers, yet they bring something more to the table than"just another neo-soul sound." The sound of Black Carl is modern, powerful and meaningful. Black Carl singer, Emma Pew, has a voice that your wear like silk when listening- a voice so strong with so much control that it is difficult not to be moved when you hear her. And the band behind her blends the sounds of The Meters with Erykah Badu to create a truly unique sound space for Emma to sing within.
