Up until the memories brought me back…Four Trips Ahead has sounded the call for the new decade: the dynamic, melodic new EP entitled “The Memories.” Successfully combining their exciting, adventurous trademark sound with heavier production, the songs possess an urgency and maturity that mark Four Trips Ahead as a force to be reckoned with in modern rock music. Produced by lead vocalist Peter Wilson and mixed by long-time Grammy Award-winning engineer and new drummer Nick Cipriano, “The Memories” is a true self-contained, independent release. More specifically, it is a focused and daring statement of progressive musical intent. Desiring to keep the energy from shows and rehearsals intact, the majority of the music was tracked over one extended summer weekend with minimal overdubs at Spin Recording Studios in Long Island City. Exploring themes of nostalgia, lost love, missed opportunities, bitter realities, sacrifice, redemption and new beginnings, Four Trips Ahead’s new songs exhibit a depth often missing in popular rock music today. As stated in the lead-off track, “Feel Anything”: Yes it’s different: without a care or cost.
