"What's Next?" is the third CD from the Hot Frittatas, a popular quartet based in Santa Rosa, California. Their music is best described as"European Cafe" -- including Ballo Liscio tunes from Italy and Sicily, Bal Musette waltzes and mazurkas from France, polkas and marches from Mexico, tangos from South America, and more. This collection also includes an original tune composed by famed mandolinist Peter Ostroushko, as well as a Spanish-style tune by the late Bay Area mandolinist Gino Pellegrini. Always respectful of the old-world traditions of this music, the Hot Frittatas inject some elements of Bluegrass, Klezmer, Gypsy, and swing into this eclectic and entertaining mix.
