专辑《You're the S#!t 2 Me》 简介
Why 'Elvis Orbison'? Well, for starters, it just called out to me. I was reading one of John Lennon's final interviews and"all through the taping of 'Starting Over,' (he) was calling what (he) was doing 'Elvis Orbison'. My ears just perked up when I said it aloud. I'm such a huge Beatles fan. My dad is Elvis Presley's #1 fan and my mom was the biggest Roy Orbison fan. So there was this built in connection and suddenly, after weeks of hemming and hawing, the name game rat race finally had context. On a purely primal level, I also just really like the way it 'sounds' as it rolls off the tongue. And it occurred to me that even for the disapproving ones, it's still a name that is somewhat unforgettable. Given that we're pretty much starting from rung A, it might be helpful to have a name that stands apart to get past the first set of ropes. But aside from this bit of Jagger-esque business school posturing, we'll just let the music do the talking.Lyrics: you've got all that mojo from your mama in your hip blue jeans and when you troll down the alley no one cares and noone ever sees that you're the one to beat you don't shimmy and I've never seen you shake it up a white girl in a thai town ghetto you're the kind of girl that just might get me fired you are so fucked up but you're the s#!t 2 me doo doo doo and I know it sounds foolish but I really get the feeling we were meant to be that's what my last girl told me we can grow real old get hitched and raise a family i've got a little money for my honey in my crack blue jeans and if ya wanna we can kick it in the jungle for a rumble grow some pot and suck a little green tea and make history you're the s#!t 2 me ***** Music & Lyrics by Brett Lyda Brett Lyda: vox, guitars, keys Don Short: drums Michael Feldman: piano Jason Chesney: bass Produced by George Bernardo & Jeremy Underwood Mixed by David Bianco Recorded and engineered by George Bernardo, Jeremy Underwood, David Bianco, Michael Feldman, Brett Lyda, Geof Brandin, Michael Marqueson, Shawn Power and Brian Walsh Recorded over three years in various houses and garages in Los Feliz, Silverlake, South Pasadena, Highland Park, Pasadena, Hollywood, Glendale, Culver City, San Gabriel, Echo Park, Happy Valley, North Hollywood, San Diego and St Lucia Additional recording at:Dave’s Room in North Hollywood and Spotless Digital Studios in San Diego Mastered by Louie Teran at Marcussen Mastering Design by Canteen
