Guitarist Gene Jaimez takes a shot at some traditional blues and country songs done with a south Texas Chicano attitude. The music recorded as close to live as possible sounds unapologetic and from the heart. This is slide guitar at its most basic played on a double 12 string electric. It’s hard to do overly recorded and performed songs with a different twist and any amount of enthusiasm but this EP seems to accomplish that task successfully. With a funky cantina vibe the music sounds like it’s coming right out of your favorite neighborhood bar & grill on a Saturday night. Paxia Records
