When I was six years old I heard Edith Piaf on the radio and I was mesmerized. I was singing my life away night and day, words fascinated me and became my best companions in life. I wrote poems and kept singing. I discovered all styles of music and without music I think I would have died! Yes, you may have guessed, life was not exactly what you would describe as easy. I grew up in Quebec, in a rather peculiar way which would take a whole book to depict. I guess I am a late bloomer, but it's never too late to come out of the closet. Especially if you are of the passionate type who has kept clinging to poetry and music like a hungry wolf to a bone!Years have passed, I discovered English and other languages, other cultures, other religions, took walks on the wild side, led a roaming life, knocked about, traveled the world around, married twice. But one thing never changed: I love music and words. And singing brings the two together. And I love it.Well, I inevitably had to bring something about. Eventually. Was it written in de stars? I have no idea, but here I am: CA-role MA-rie DOU-cet, CAMADOUI am proud to introduce this album, at the request of my fans, here in Holland where I managed to settle down some years ago. This album is a compilation of beautiful famous French songs, interpreted in my own way, accompanied by musicians which I can only describe as" la crème de la crème'. KLM-Air France agree on that too and recommend me on their 2014 in-flight entertainment program. So, come and listen and feel free to sing loud and clear ' Je t' aime' along with me!Melodiously yours, Camadou
