Great lyrics need great vocals to really shine and that's what we have here on Ross' second CD album. The social / political messages on songs like"Learn From The Animals","My Perfect World" and"Somebody's B**ch" are delivered with powerful vocals, while songs like"Push Me" and"Together" that touch on the complexities of love are sung with heartfelt passion. While musical styles and instrumentation varies, strong musicianship remains a constant throughout the album.The connection between the album's lyricists Ross Friedman and Mark Barnett dates back to the early 1970's in Carbondale, Illinois where the two went to college and wrote their first songs. Their partnership has continued throughout the years. They have composed songs individually and together, many of which can be heard on Ross' first release"Part Of Me" and the current album"Knock Down The Walls". With divergent backgrounds the two have combined to pen songs exploring social/political topics and love songs. Mark Barnett is a song writer living in Northern California.
