Different Folks is the first full-length album from full-time family doctor, part time musician, James Reid. It blends both calm folk sounds and more edgy tunes with a range of traditional and abstract electronic instruments. The songs are sincere and comforting. The idea for this album is a departure from Reid’s first minialbum “The Turning Tide”, which was a personal testimony about life lived and love lost. “Different Folks” speaks to the stories of imaginary characters who are archetypes for every day human experience. Recorded in bedrooms and hallways from Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Creston, Rossland and Edmonton- this album is a patchwork of ideas and sounds.
