Kevin Sport is a multi-faceted drummer/percussionist whose diverse percussive talents have made him an in-demand player in New York and abroad. His musical life ranges from New York club dates to Cairo concert hall performances and everything in between. He has worked as an accompanist for modern dance classes since moving to New York City in 2002, playing in studios ranging from The Alvin Ailey School, The Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance and The JKO School at American Ballet Theater. Kevin has played class for Horton legends including Milton Meyers, Ana Marie Forsythe, Troy Powell and Tracy Inman.Power and Space showcases percussion instruments from all over the world including djembe, doumbek, darbuka, tar, ocean drum, kanjira, conga, and cajon. These instruments combined with Kevin's highly developed technique and many years of experience playing for the Horton technique have created an album that is highly useful and inspirational inside the dance studio and beyond.
