This one just popped out of me. Bam, there it was! I was just sitting in the studio playing my stratocaster. I wasn't even plugged in, just spacing out and playing anything that came along. And along came this arpegio chord progression. I didn't think anything of it. Then I started strumming this chord sequence that was very similar to the arpegio I had just been playing. This was more pronounced though, more upbeat and I started to really get into it. I thought, what could this be about because I was really digging the progression and it was such a simple little progression to boot. I got these words in my head, whisper in the wind, sing out in the rain. I loved it.I grabbed a pen and paper, put the guitar down for a few minutes and this laundry list type thing started pouring out of me... whisper in the wind, sing out in the rain, dream among the stars, gather when you pray, listen when you hear, laugh with all your joy, treat your people good, give all yourself you can, gaze up in the sky, love with all your heart, go slowly on your way, be peaceful everyday.Well damn, I realized I had just written a chorus for a song. So I went back to that arpegio progression I was playing first and wrote three verses. In less than an hour,"Our Life" was written. I am proud of this one, it is a good song, upbeat with a message of appreciation for life. A song designed to just pick you up and make you feel good.I hope you enjoy this tune and I certainly hope when you hear it you feel good about everything in life. Loving life is the most important thing you can do, in my humble opinion.
