My original intention was to create an album in which each song had a different style and mood, thereby reflecting my own mental state in a joking manner. An album without a common thread seemed like a freeing concept. However, endeavoring to force each song in a different direction actually resulted in a sense of constriction. I felt it was a failure until I wrote the song"This is your brain (you never really knew him that well)" and uncovered a common thread between my mental state in each song. Whether it was distraction through humor, projection and distancing through concept and philosophical debate, or some sense of denial in trying to see anxiety as an overarching empowering force, my every state of mind was a defense mechanism I had created for myself as a way of dealing with a traumatic experience. https://self-imposed1.bandcamp.com/releases Cover Artwork: Kaedhen Bharathae-Lane www.instagram.com/kaedhen/ Additional Vocals: Shadow Quesinberry (Paralytic, Shivers of Erology, and Unseen)
