So fortunate I am to get to bear witness to such a tremendous collaboration that represents all that is good about the human spirit. British Dependency as a group has experienced positive evolution and reflects true chemistry between three very unique and talented people who happen to be extraordinary musicians: The respected Ruel Richardson leads with his wicked gift of guitar and caresses you with his vocals. Beautiful, sexy, soft,yet tough Joyah proves why she is rooted as the trailblazing “first lady of bass”. Jaiden Fleming brings luscious youth yet at the same time his creative ability on the drums suggests a world of experience. This album, the second by British Dependency, is called Veneration and is a testament to the appreciation I see flying forth from the British Dependency audience on a daily basis. Their fans run the gamut and they know and love their songs. The songs are originals, composed by British Dependency as they put their heart and soul behind their music as true musicians do. Their audience always wants more. They want to take British Dependency home with them, as this sound is unmatched. They want others to hear what they hear. They appreciate the raw talent needed to rock the Jimi Hendrix cover and they can’t help but move to the Zouk. They don’t want a new day to dawn…they want the song to go on and on. British Dependency truly appreciates this love and appreciation and has made this album for their venerators. As a fan, what I am honored to see this growing veneration. Veneration by definition is respect or awe inspired by the dignity, wisdom, dedication, or talent of a person. All that goes in to British Dependency, the time and all the bits and pieces that the audience does not see, is solid and true hard work laced with mutual respect. Dedication backed by talent, dignity maintained by wisdom. The collaboration of such important human traits is what makes British Dependency what you see today. To me, they command Veneration. -a Fan
