Nansie Chapman, whose mom was a classical pianist, began singing as far back as she can remember, and began finding the harmonies in the songs she sang in elementary school. She also found that rhymes just bounced right into her head! No stranger to the power of the pen, Nansie founded Santa Barbara Family Life Magazine in 1998, and has served as editor and publisher since then. Her monthly editorial on living life to the fullest always contains valuable nuggets of advice based on common sense. This CD is a collective effort by some of the finest musicians in Santa Barbara, to whom I am very grateful for their mentoring and participation. First and foremost my thanks to Peter Clark, who is a legend in his own right in many music circles and who generously agreed to produce this recording for me. Maitland Ward was involved with every track and has done an amazing job. John Enrico Douglas, who co-wrote several songs with me, and has contributed a couple of his original songs, has been an inspiration to me since I took the leap two years ago and rekindled my passion for songwriting and singing. George Friedenthal, who added his expertise on several songs, is always a joy to work with. Michael Morse made a couple of my country songs rock, and Justin Claveria made his sax sing on Am I Chasing Rainbows.I would be remiss if I didn't mention two other people – Roger Bradly, who has been helping me learn to read music, coached me on several songs. He always encourages me to try new chord combinations and break out of the box.
