Track 1.The first track on the LP leads you down an Alice in Wonderland path, a murmuring instrumental at odds with what is about to hit you with the second offering.Track 2.50’s style rock and roll guitar party about the classic 57 Chevrolet that is being driven on a guitar riff reminiscent of Bill Haley and the Comets who have fed muscle builder to their amps, strong lyrics and a classic 50’s lead. Drive with the roof down in the woody and turn this one up. Track 3.Don’t You Bring Me Down is the inevitable call from a romance gone south with the riff interspersing the lyrics as we move from being lost to being free. The low range lead in the middle reflects the sombre effects of a love lost only to be reborn again through the outro. Track 4.Philosophy overlays the highly infectious Coloured Popcorn. The music has been undergroomed so as not to get your feet tapping. But try and stop yourself.Track 5.The group’s combined writing efforts are felt in this little gem, Something Missing. A 3 minute classic from the group with the lyrics offering options and alternatives that we all face at some time. Track 6.A bluesy rock track of unrequited love. The staccato lyrics reflect a heart on their sleeve mixed with an under aged promiscuity. The whine of the guitar lead could have pulsed better for this song but its improv fits the hormone laden lyrics. Track 7.This screeching guitar number is a poke at the political scene in the band’s home. The message is for the ages but the track is meaty, and some power telecaster infusion pushes the track to the semi acoustic middle eight then punches back out again. This is well worth a listen.Track 8.The second instrumental track on the album which slowly builds with the layering of instruments to a crescendo. It’s an exhibition of classic and rock infusion providing a postmodern expression of life. It meanders, and throbs and lurches into experimental avant-garde techno riffs. Diversity a plenty.Track 9.Something from the band's influences of the Pop culture of the 60’s when the fab four were dominate. Nothing over the top with this one. Its upbeat, fast beat. A lively track guaranteed to have you tapping along.10.A hypnotic melody line layered over the bass and syncopated percussion that weaves its magic over a window into the simpleness of a Saturday night out on the town. This ethereal groove encapsulates the best the band has to offer and if this atonal last track is where we are headed for their next foray ..........bring on the next LP !
