Endangered Species opens by setting the scene of a global paradigm shift - started back in 1975 with the outcome of the Lima Declaration which laid out the framework of globalisation, and accelerated in recent years. This is followed by some specific instances such as 911, the use of torture, human micro-chip implants, the reluctant soldier and unemployment. Then perhaps in the not-too-distant future we may have a situation where a young person starting out in the world wonders what has happened to his prospects? No country. No culture. No freedoms, rights etc. No jobs.... He asks"What did YOU do, Grandpa, to help stop the rot? What did YOU do to help protect my future?"So all you people out there that throw around accusations of"conspiracy theorist" etc. What are YOU going to tell your GRANDKIDS? How are you going to look them in the eye? After the rant of Hey Grandpa, Grandpa answers with Ranks Of The Profane..... He just wants to be left alone and not have to think too much.It all sinks into hopelessness with Wave Goodbye (as the ship goes down). Were being attacked on many fronts but nobody is making a stand. The we come out fighting with Legal Fiction which is a song about"lawfull rebellion".As this collection of songs follows a chronologocal theme, it is best listened to in its entirety rather than picking tracks here and there.Enjoy!
