theLOUP's formula is simple and follows the same original template that spawned a whole new spectrum of music centered around breakbeats and snippets of original music from the 70s. Coupled with simple, yet insightful lyrics, theLOUP delivers a craftily orchestrated, sample-laden groove section to their debut album Benjamin Dues."See, when we got rappers like Joey Bada$$ making"90s boom bap" their whole style, its important to mention that this record is not Joey Bada$$. The difference is, Benjamin Dues is not a reinterpretation of what they think that era sounded like, it is a product of that era and doesn't have to try to sound like it." -253rdStreetNot only is theLOUP a representation of the format they use to create rich sonic textures throughout Benjamin Dues, theLOUP also symbolizes that which is continuous, eternal and neverending. It stands for connecting with the past in order to move forward. As MC K-Due says in the song Dead End Streets,"this is everlasting, that's why they call it a flow." The flow is eternal, and the loop is the time signature in which eternity dances to.
