Jordan Brown is a folk and funk singer/songwriter born and raised in Miami, Florida. The University of Miami songwriter and accomplished guitarist’s skills have even impressed Bruce Hornsby, who said, “[Brown] is born to song write.”Brown’s passions and natural ability surfaced at an early age when he self-taught himself guitar and began to sing and write songs as a self-healing process for life's problems. In 2009 Brown went to Miami Dade College, where he began studying Jazz and Vocal Performance and in the spring of 2013, Brown began studying Music Business and Songwriting at the University of Miami. Chapel in the Clouds is Jordan Brown’s debut EP, diving headfirst into the genre of acoustic folk. Jordan and fellow musicians from University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, Iowa, and Vancouver mix bold guitar sounds, fiery fiddle runs, plucks of the banjo, jazzy upright, and the sonic glue of piano and organ all to create this unique and innovative sound. “Chapel in the clouds is a refreshingly soulful-folk release. The inspiration for the album began when Jordan Brown was visiting a chapel in South Carolina.Brown’s influences include Mumford & Sons, Philip Phillips, and Dave Barnes, but his music is unique in theme, vocal harmonies, and jazz undertones. Chapel in the Clouds takes you on a spiritual journey through the highs and lows we all can experience throughout our lives. From the gritty inescapability of our own fallen nature explored in Curse the Ground, to the peace, friendship and grace we find in Jesus with This I Know.
