This album was never meant to happen. Stedy Dub, a.k.a. Stephanie Warren, grew up in the working class suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. The eldest of 3 children in a toxic home, her self image was colored by neglectful parents including an abusive father. At age 17, her mother died. Determined to attain the dignity she deserves, and someday be self sufficient, Stedy Dub left home on her 18th birthday.Linking a strong work ethic with a chaotic upbringing, Stedy Dub's early adult pursuits proved to be steadfast yet self destructive. This led her to New York and another abusive relationship that pushed her to the edge, literally. One night, while sitting on a windowsill, 36 floors above Manhattan, Stedy Dub saw the misery her future held if she continued down the same path. That moment, she made the decision to change.Stedy Dub left for California to pursue her dream of writing music, and has yet to question that leap. After 8 years of honing her craft and writing from truth, she is finally ready to come out and share her struggle and journey through song. Fatherload is the album Stedy Dub created and co-wrote with seasoned musician, singer, and producer Jimmy Rothis. The album's purpose is an honest exposure of the secrets and shame behind physical and emotional abuse, the whimsy necessary to survive it, and the strength it takes to share it with the world. From a little girl enduring, to Stedy Dub overcoming and making good on the promise to end the cycle, I present Fatherload.Dedicated to Mom: P. DubIf you wish to contact Stedy Dub: stedydub@gmail.com
