Mandy Meng is a self-taught singer-songwriter who loves performing and interacting with live audiences. Mandy's musical talent is evident in her recent album,"New Kind of Cute", with songs ranging from fresh a cappellas to light, comedic ballads. Mandy has fine-tuned her acoustic pop sound for the last decade. Highlights of her musical career include performing at Java Joe's in San Diego, The Neutral Ground in New Orleans, Lucky Joe's in Fort Collins and on the main stage at the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest in Colorado with Peter Himmelman. She's also performed at several fund-raising events for causes such as Leukemia research, political awareness and empowerment of women.Mandy's musical style comes from her love of entertaining audiences and getting a laugh from the crowd. As a child she performed self-choreographed dance pieces to Michael Jackson tunes and sang to Bette Midler albums for friends. She wrote her first song at age 20 entitled"Take Time" which can be heard on the album,"New Kind Of Cute". Her passion for music has increased over the years as she has honed her talent and musical focus into a powerful brew of folk-rock. Mandy's inspiration comes from her profound respect for her friends, family and her powerful female heroes like, Patty Griffin, Indigo Girls, Oprah, Margaret Cho and the Powerpuff Girls (seriously).
