“The merger of two artists, Jay Kell and Boi Dru, have birthed a duo under the moniker “ NtheClouds.” The two aren’t typical of your average hip hop entity. Through an eclectic taste in music, NtheClouds have created a genre they refer to as FSP (Funk Soul Pop). “ We never want to be locked into one form of music. Every type of sound is available to us,” Says Boi Dru. “ Rap is apart of it, but just a piece of the equation. We’ve been influenced by all genres of music,“ Jay Kell explains.Jay Kell hails from Monroe, Louisiana while Boi Dru was born and raised in Houston, Texas. The two developed a friendship while working on a compilation in Houston, and decided to collaborate on music with each other thereafter. The Duo not only share common ground in their roots of origin, but their taste in music as well. Quincy Jones, The Beatles, and OutKast are just a few artists that have influenced the two. NtheClouds aren't just musicians, but curators of a culture for the everyday music lover who is sophisticated, yet urban.”
