Recorded in the Chicago suburbs while Mathes was still in high school, his debut release captures some of his earliest works. A guitar and his voice are all that Mathes needs on many of these songs, as he skillfully lays down each chord. In this simple record, on songs like"Need You,""New Day", and"Open Road, Open Hand," we see, first-hand, the making of a life-long songwriter.
