For the hardcore,"Golf Superintendent Song" perfectly captures the feelings of the unseen heroes of most golf clubs while “Donald Ross Song” pays tribute and pokes a little bit of good natured fun at the legendary golf course designer.Another tribute to the legendary links of Pinehurst, North Carolina (Cates’s home state) is eloquently delivered in “Pinehurst and the Golf God”Cates flexes his story telling muscle in the side splitting tale of a patchouli oil and tie die wearing, Grateful Dead listening old money relative who returns to the stuffy old school country club.
