This album was created for the most part using the tools listed in the title; A woodbox, a biscuit tin, a tambourine, a healing heart, a guitar and a spoon. The spoon is strapped to Simon's toe and used to hit the biscuit tin as can be heard in 'Things Might Not Be Half As Bad As They Seem' or 'Water Under The Bridge'. The entire album is based on the sound that Simon gets when playing live and solo. A lot of it was recorded completely live in one take. The guest musicians are Gareth Bowen on an occasional brushed snare drum, beautiful harmony vocals by Kate Kelsey-Sugg and some organ and piano by Andrew Vollmer.
