SONORA 51 is a latin jazz band from Hamburg, Germany founded by Pianist Matthäus Winnitzki. The group plays original compositions written by the bandleader and features some of the finest musicians around. The music of the band combines the rhythmic complexity of afro-cuban traditions with the harmonic and structural diversity of modern jazz. These two blend into a dynamic sound, which leaves a lot of space for the individuality of each soloist.
