This album highlights Kokila's 15 year career as a songwriter, singer and composer for piano, harp, flute and synthasizer.Kokila began songwriter and composing for the piano when she was a child, growing up on an old estate/museum on Long Island. Surrounded by replicas of a bygone era in Europe, she was fascinated by the feelings of mystical past times in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Always drawn to the legends of old England, like King Arthur and Morgan le Fey, she drew on Celtic ties to compose and play her songs. A deep interest in spirituality and meditation and the love of nature also inspired her music. If you listen closely you will hear the melodies intertwined with the sounds of the natural world. The song of a bird perhaps or the wind in the trees, or a open field at midnight, owls swooping low... Kokila's music is unique and yet at the same time strangely familiar. People have likened it to Enya, Yanni and sometimes Dougie Mclean or Loreena McKinnett. However, truely, it is uniquely all her own. Enjoy and stay tuned for more albums from this inspired musician.
