As"Hush" is dedicated to the memory of my mother, who left us suddenly on June 26, 2014,"The Phoenix" is dedicated to my daughter, husband, siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins - those of us left behind to grieve the devastating double loss of both mother and father, Nana and Bumpa, aunt and uncle, within the space of five months.I believe with all my heart that I was given these two songs to help me deal with this incredibly profound loss and, in turn, help others who may be attempting to cope with a similar experience.The artwork of"The Phoenix" is based on the pin that my mother gave to me fifteen years ago accompanied by the words,"Elizabeth, remember that the Phoenix always rises."So she does, Mom, so she does.
