In the fall of 2013, the music industry stood on the brink of disaster. Over-produced tracks, poorly pronounced vowels, and auto-tuned vocals threatened to ravage music beyond repair. Armed with money and media influence, the music industry homogenized every artist they could and asphyxiated those they could not. All hope seemed lost.Against this terrible darkness, one man stood. Or rather, sat. On a stool. In a studio. In front of a microphone."Damn your expensive gear," he sang."Enough of your fancy editing tricks," he wailed."And to hell with your notion that recorded music should be perfect!"The EP he created,"Another Year," defies the conventions of pop music. Every track was recorded in live takes to allow listeners to experience these songs as they were written and as they were meant to be heard.I invite you all to raise your glass and celebrate music that reflects us as humans, music that openly declares"I am not perfect, and I am not ashamed!"May every year you grow older allow you to grow another year wiser. Cheers.
