I recorded this album shortly after a six week stay in the hospital where I had been gathering strength after a surprise manic episode landed itself into my life. Still shaken from the grandeur of metaphors that had inhabited my life before and in the hospital, the sliver of time where I readjusted to the"real world" proved incredibly creative and inspiring. A few of the songs were brand new, having been chiseled out on the hospital's old and clunky piano. The power in these recordings lies in the combined strength and fragility that encompassed that time. ---- Rachael Cardiello"The first time I watched Rachael Cardiello slipstream from wide-eyed observer to the radiant and soulful performer onstage, I was entirely unprepared for how attached I would become to her music. This little pepper pot from Montana will make room in your heart, and permanently take up residence. This music sticks to your bones. It makes you feel like you’re doing something healthy, when in reality you suddenly find yourself stumbling around with a gang of bohemians, leaving a wake of wine bottles and dirty pots and pans.Soot and madness are tossed with beauty throughout the lyics, which translates and expands with the harmonies of her vocals and instrumentals.Cardiello is the contemporary siren: her imagery and melody get nestled into your subconscious, giving off that deep satisfaction that comes from greatmusic." ---- Anna Bald
