At the very heart of The Possibility Project's City at Peace: Volume 1 are ordinary teenagers achieving extraordinary things. Over the years in many Possibility Project shows, teenagers working in collaboration with professional artists and musicians have created dozens of original musicals with original compositions, articulating the difficult realities they face and their ideas for change.Now a group of teenagers from programs in four different cities came together to record a compilation of songs from past shows. Each song comes from one of the original musicals written and performed by Possibility Project teenagers over the years.All of the lyrics were written by the youth cast members themselves or come from their writings or ideas. The music and lyrics were finally composed and arranged by professional artists.Paul G. Griffin, Founder & President of The Possibility Project, is the Executive Producer of the project. Gerald Trottman, former Musical Director of The Possibility Project and well-known composer and musician, was the Musical Director. Mark Harder, formerly with the Hit Factory, is the one who produced and mixed the songs. The songs on this CD represent the voices of today's urban youth. They express the serious reality teenagers face as well as their aspirations for the future. The CD aims to send a much needed statement of hope to our youth, our communities and our world.
