God has me on a mission, and has asked me to use the talent he has given me to bring all cultures together. The best way to do this, I've learned, is by telling stories using everyday things. No matter how difficult the challenge is, the obstacles we face with others and ourselves, we all can learn from the stories we tell. I know I have. When I was a kid, most of the children around me couldn't learn music properly. It was rare to have an instrument in the home if you lived in my neighborhood. I learned how to play the piano. Most African-American children had to settle for a radio, and not many knew about music lessons. I didn't have a music teacher to show me; I had to rent a VHS tape from the local library just to understand how notes worked. We just couldn't afford it. The lights had to stay on, and food had to be on the table. That was my father's priority. We did have a radio, though. I never realized how important that was, until now.I have been writing and producing music since 1995. The first nine years (1995 - 2004) were great. I had"Mature Women,""Enhance the Curve,""Accomplished," and"Just Chill All the Time," and others. Once you sense a passion, it's hard to let go.Soon I wanted to make music that stood against the test of time."The Replacement" did exactly that. It was a concept that even if you're the best at what you do, you will always be in a situation that you will be taking over for someone else, and you have to prove that you deserve that position.I was the man for the job, but I had my doubts. What if they don't like my style? What if they don't want to see me? I knew when I was"drafted" to be the next great artist, there would be speculations. I had to prove why those hesitations were null and void, and the reason for changing directions. Here’s a new direction. Here's an artist with the genius of Mozart, but has the charisma of Jay-Z.My music reflects reality. From Working Wisdom, Shine, T.H.A.T., Sleep, Hold On, and Motivate, you can always hear the genuity. It's a worldwide sound that addresses a unieversal theme.I'm thankful for my accomplishments, and thank God for my success, along with great fans such as yourself. I could have never made it this far without you, and I say that with the bottom of my heart.Enjoy!PEACE,jeehtovenDecember 2011
