Things are starting to hot up in 2011 for FTC Recordings as their latest signing, Candian Anthony Voitik a.k.a"Afreakwent" serves up his debut release for the label. Formerly known as"Bluescreen" and signed to Shadow/Instinct Records (NYC), he has been making records since the late 90's. Back in the day his music making setup was somewhat different but ever since his start he has been developing the harder-edged progressive style that he calls his own and the result is the sublime"Absynt".Vocals are provided by Lulu Fonda. She has had an overwhelming passion for songwriting and singing all her life and with this, her newest creation, she hopes to spread her words and messages worldwide. This track,"Absynt", is just the first of many to come from the pair and they describe the tracks that they are currently working on as"a** shakin and history makin'". Just how we like it!Heading up the package is the Original Mix which takes us on a journey through the heart and soul of a bouncing progressive vibe. Deliciously swingy and sweeping sounds pulsate through the length of the track while the chopped vocal effects hypnotise and take you away into your own little world infused with a dreamy undertone that is totally mesmerising.Next up are FTC originators Mihell & Pinkfinger with their own spin on the"Absynt" theme. Perhaps their best remix yet, this particular club shaker sees them refining and developing their sound into perhaps a slightly new direction. Awesomely groovy yet surprisingly subtle, this one will creep up on you without you even realising. And finally we have Oldboy, a.k.a Dead Peasant, a.k.a Clifford John with his slightly more driving and trance-influenced version. Placed in this context the vocals of Lulu Fonda seem even more uplifting in their message. The drops in this mix will be sure to raise the hands of everyone in the room as they just seem to keep building and building until the groove finally kicks back in and the dancefloor erupts.
