Featuring Takashi Kashiwakura(toe) on Drums, Yuichi Takama on Bass, and Yuki Akiyoshi (yeti let you notice) on Guitar, the album features an aggressive, alternative sound that's hard to believe is from a pianist's album. At the same time, the album also incorporates IDM influences from artists like Squarepusher, which Hirahata listened to extensively in his impressionable teenage years, adding diversity to the tracklist. The album title incorporates the dual meanings of"Lifeline" and"Deadline," and Hirahata approached the album with an awareness of the conflict he faces as a musician approaching his mid-40s, confronting his"lifespan."
