Robin Haijes (Zoetermeer, 1996) excites her audience with her self-written songs, and tends to wrap the crowd around her fingers. Fingers that have gotten used to a steady but rocky guitar style. Robin has a voice that manages to reach out to the highest and lowest frequencies. A voice that is able to sound raw, but also manages to sound clean just as effortlessly. It is easy to tell that she is very serious, and has a clear eye on her goals. She released her EP ‘A Lion Awakes’ in 2015, and has release numerous singles and videoclips since then. Robin currently studies at the Rockacademy in Tilburg, preforms as much as she can and has a growing amount of prizes to her name. Among these prizes are “the Winner of Battle of the Bands Zoetermeer” and “Best Singer-songwriter Alphen”. With her band Raggedy Ann she provides her audience with an energetic show. As a solo artist she will amaze you with her voice, guitar, effects, and loopstation.
Other than performing as an artist, and releasing new music, Robin works as a music teacher. She has taught children how to play the piano and guitar since she was 15 years old and formed her own company at age 18. She began her career at Groovability, a growing music school, in 2015 and has worked there ever since. She doesn't only play the guitar and the piano with her students, but also introduces them to playing in a band, writing their own songs and recording music.
Robin has also worked as a writer for various companies. She has written for the education programme ‘Groove me’, which educates the English Language to kids at elementary schools. She also wrote music for a video game that hasn't been released yet, and is currently writing jingles for the radio station ‘Studio Alphen’. She likes a challenge, and isn't afraid to take on new and exiting projects.
Robin enjoys working in her fathers home studio. Her father, Gert-Jan Hayes, has a company in live sound (Hayes Livesound). Because of this beautiful home studio, Robin has the chance to be her own producer and record her songs. All of her songs are accessible on Soundcloud (www.soundcloud.com/robinhaijes). Robin also enjoys making videoclips for her music. She shoots these at home, with the help of her nephew Thijs Schumacher, who is only 10 years old. Together they work out ideas and create amateurish yet charming videos. They release these videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDo6IyNJ1MK3eRI-0kJ9UrA)
