Since the success of the SAPOL DixielandBand's first CD back in 1994, listeners havebeen waiting anxiously for its sequel. Andso, after countless hours of rehearsing(sometimes as early as 7.30 am to fit in withthe bands demanding schedule) a mini busloaded with musicians and instrumentstrundled out of the gates of the ThebartonPolice Barracks. The destination was anold court room in Sturt Street transformedinto a recording studio, and the day was acold, wet, miserable morning in March. After a few hours of setting up and sound checking, thevoice of the engineer came through the musiciansheadphones with the long awaited instruction “tape'srolling”. Some seven hours later, mentally exhausted butthoroughly satisfied, the same musicians loaded the busand headed for home having exceeded expectations andcompleted ten tracks for the CD.A second date was organised to return to the studio, and onthe 27th of August the final tracks were laid to bring tocompletion the second of the band's CD's “A FEW MOREBARS”.Sit back, and enjoy!
