This production began many years ago when Geoff C. George began to feel God's inspiration to consider the Song of Solomon as it appears in the King James Bible. Mr. George will tell you,"Its all about love." He sees it as God's invitation to bask not only in human love but also divine love. Reaching not only into his heart but into his 30-plus year career in music, Mr. George began to compose. A decade later he presents The Song of Solomon An Oratorio. Why the King James? In a word, poetry. Geoff believes that poetry inspires conversation. It invites our imaginations into reflective realms in ways nothing else can. For Geoff the King James is an invitation to join in an intimate conversation with God about His eternal love for us all. Love brings hope. Hope is intrinsic to humanity. Hope informs faith which completes the trilogy of faith, hope and love.Mr. George's mission is to facilitate a stronger sense of community within the Church, as well as within the community-at-large, by affording opportunities for people to sing God's word, through directly quoted Scripture, using modern instruments, and when possible, world instruments reflective of the time and geography of the original writings. His heartfelt belief is that there is healing power in the Word of God whether experienced spiritually or not. Geoff invites you to join him in this wisdom journey through Word and music.Mr. George would like to take this opportunity to thank Nylene Douglas and Michael Wooden for their outstanding vocal contributions, Gloria Perry for her continuous efforts as transcriber and administrator, and Amy Crowns for her graphic arts expertise.
