Born in Washington State and raised in North Carolina, I found my love for music at the early age of eight years old. Arriving North Carolina at the age of twelve, I was introduced to the sounds of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions. This was something I did not hear on the radio coming from the Pacific North West. I was immediately drawn to this new style of music. Just like that, things began to change for me. My walk, talk, and dress totally changed. Being exposed to Hip – Hop of this genre ruined it for other rappers aiming for commercial stardom. Over time, this music became a way of life for me. If you did not know anything about Hip – Hop, I felt as if it was my duty to show you what it was really about. The funny thing is, in 2007 I feel exactly the same way. I went from B-Boy to DJ to M.C., but the road didn’t end there. I found that Hip – Hop is bigger than the music. It is bigger than the material benefits you gain from it. It gives young people a way to express, but will it be used to its fullest potential? The Harvest is nothing more than a gathering of good beats and good rhymes for the listeners to feast on.
