Lello’s Italian Job:Features:Lello Molinari on Acoustic and Electric Bass Dino Govoni on Tenor & Soprano SaxSal DiFusco on Electric & Acoustic Guitar and MandolinMarcello Pellitteri on Drums & PercussionsThe goal for this Project is to explore Italian Music ranging from Traditional Southern Folk, to Classical Arias, and Popular Songs, through Jazz Interpretation. Music by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Pino Daniele, Renato Carosone, Domenico Modugno and more. What’s very exciting about this project and group of musicians, is that while they are all extremely talented, skilled, and experienced musicians, they also are very open-minded, and willing to embark on new directions. Beside for their common experience as Berklee Faculty, the strongest link is their Italian heritage. Lello Molinari and Marcello Pellitteri were born and have grown up in Southern Italy, Dino Govoni and Sal DiFusco, were born in the states to Southern Italian families. Interestingly enough they found out that they all listened to the same songs as children. Their references are as common as if they had grown up on the same block. The result is an eclectic mix of different types of Italian Music re-interpreted through Jazz and Improvisation.
