Being greatly influenced by the Beatles, Tchaikovsky, Eagles, Bread, James Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Procal Harem, Santana, George Formby - I taught myself piano and guitar to begin composing music which came spontaneously. And surprisingly enough, my debut' gospel L.P. reached No. 1 on the Top Selling Gospel Albums in S. Africa May 1983 in the first 2 weeks after release. The title track became the most requested and aired gospel song from 1983 to 1986 across S. Africa. In 1989 the backing vocalist of the late Leonard Cohen and Whitney Houston - recorded 7 of my love songs (on her debut' album of only 10 songs). Her title song was written in 6 mins.2010 - a USA film producer of The Joneses (2010) asked to use a love song of mine in his movie where I played keyboard and sang.I have 46 songs recorded by 15 different artists in 4 countries and this is the first time I have tried my hand at composing, arranging, playing and producing an instrumental album . . . and I hope it works.
