The debut album from Don's Goodbye Café,"Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow", is the outcome of sixteen years travelling around the globe playing with anybody and everybody, from Mariachis in Mexico to Russian gypsy musicians in Berlin. The songwriter and arranger for Don's Goodbye Café is Paul McMahon. He hails from Belfast, Ireland. He is also an award winning poet and writer. He holds a Masters Degree in Writing, with first class honours, from NUI, Galway, Ireland. He Won first prize in the Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize (2012) and First prize in the Golden Pen Poetry Prize (2011). Second Prize in The Basil Bunting Poetry Award (2012) Third Prize in The Dromineer Poetry Prize (2011), Runner up in The Chapter One Promotions Poetry Competition (2012) and has been shortlisted for numerous other poetry prizes including the Bridport Poetry Prize which had over 8000 entries from around the world. His poetry has been published in Southword (IRL), The Threepenny Review (USA), The Moth, The Stony Thursday Book (IRL), Revival (IRL), The Crabcreek Review, The Poetry Saltzburg Review (Austria), Berklee College’s Fusion (USA), Crannog (IRL) Ambit, Orbis (UK) and many others.
