"Beautiful tracks, stunning production and blissful vocals...what's not to like?" Andrew Marston, BBC IntroducingSong writing for Come Home began in a stormy North Wales. Marie-Claire and Steven Wattison (song writing partner, guitarist and producer) hired a remote cottage with a clear view to a harbour, hoping to find inspiration away from it all and surrounded by the elements. Little did they know they were about to experience the ferocious storms of February 2014. The scene was exhilarating, with driving rain turning roads to rivers, howling winds, trees ripped from the ground and crashing through buildings. The influence of the elements is clear in many of the songs, including ‘Come Home’, ‘Fury of the storm’, ‘Spark’ and ‘Little one’.Writing for the album continued at home, in Worcester, where the band set up their own recording studio and label. This afforded them room to experiment with their sound and more time to refine the songs by playing them in live. This brought in further influences from the rest of the band (Peter Jennings-Bates bass, Dan Slade drums, Ted Dwyer, guitar) including country guitar riffs that sound straight out of Nashville and an unexpected hint of progressive rock.Whilst playing the new material, under the original name of ‘Marie-Claire Berreen’, the other band members became affectionately known on stage as ‘Her Husbands’ through amusing anecdotes, and the band name has changed with this 2nd album to reflect that. The time span for writing the album brought on a change of band members, with Glenn Pettit leaving to pursue his passion for acting, and being replaced by Tommy Jennings-Bates (Pete’s son) on keyboards. Tommy, already an accomplished guitarist, learnt keyboards especially for the band, a pleasing surprise for everyone. This album has been a true labour of love, taking over a year and a half to complete. Despite writing and playing together for over 15 years, the band only began performing their own music to audiences in 2010. They have spent the last few years honing their sound on stages across the UK and are emerging as a truly authentic and memorable band."The first lesson in song writing - write about what you know. Here is a lady who knows herself to the depth of her soul. Add to this the voice of an angel and her amazingly talented husbands and you have the perfect evening. If she’s playing anywhere near you, even if its 100 miles away, go see her and her husbands, I guarantee you won’t regret it." Dave Irving, Joules Yard & DJ on Harborough FM
