Kashi is the ancient name of the holy city of Varanasi, India, the oldest continually inhabited city on earth. The title track evokes images of the open-air market near the Ganges River at sunrise, as it stirs awake with activity…coming to life with an almost magical diversity of people. This market is symbolic of the place where we recognize that every experience in our lives is in perfection and has brought us to this moment of realization. The final track, Realization, is our return to Oneness, to Self-realization, to God.As in The Market of Kashi, this album reflects the spontaneous exchange of the creative process. Songs were not written down and rehearsed. Instead, each was created in-the-moment; a natural unfolding in the sound with unplanned elements reveal themselves in the process of music-making. Our hope is to take listeners to a deeper level through their own personal journey to self-realization.
