Although released as a soundtrack for the movie OUT OF BLUE, the CD stands on it's own as a collection of songs and a sample of Rita Taylor's diverse music writing. You'll find original songs in the style of Americana Rock to R&B, Pop and Soft Rock. The featured musicians add to the total sound and make it more than a coffeehouse version of the well-thought musical journeys. Rita sings, plays Guitars and Drums.The original idea for OUT OF BLUE was conceived more than a decade ago by Rita Taylor. It was intended to be a Rock Opera inspired by the study of Wagnerian Operas in college, and having seen the off-Broadway production of"Jesus Christ Superstar" in NYC when she was 14 years old. Although the content is not religious in nature, OUT OF BLUE has taken shape as an adapted screenplay production because of the accessibility of the cable television format available to Rita as a member of TCCC, currently known as Access Tucson. She is a long-standing member of that cable channel, who is certified as camera operator and director, as well as writer, producer and was featured as musician/singer/songwriter in other community-minded productions. She has closely worked on two other musical projects for Linn Lane of WOMANKRAFT in Tucson, AZ. The soundtrack is still an important part of the idea of the OUT OF BLUE production, as Rita's music is featured throughout. The screening of the movie, OUT OF BLUE showed great community response in the summer of 2003 and continues to be cablecast on local Tucson channels.
