You want one clear telling of the war, start to finish, that you can follow with your ears alone. This retelling of the Trojan War gives you that, as a single epic that moves like a film. It begins with a golden apple and the Judgement of Paris, then follows the Greek fleet across the sea. You stay with Achilles through his wrath and his duel with Hector, and you watch the gods of Olympus quarrel and steer every turn. Each chapter keeps the cast small and offers a short recap, so you never lose the thread. A human narrator who checked every pronunciation carries the Greek myths with warmth and wit, and he notes where the ancient sources tell it differently.By the time the Wooden Horse rolls through the gates and Troy burns, you will hold the whole war in your head. Press play and march with the heroes.
