专辑《Mt. Funkmore》 简介
UNCLE KNUCKLEFUNK, formed in new 1992 in Ohio, began playing and immediately creating quite a ‘buzz’ with their music. The band’s first release, a self titled 3-song demo introduced in May of 1992, quickly sold over a thousand units. Things went well and the band was inspired to follow up with a second release titled"Psychofunkular Frip Zone", a five song EP that spawned the hit single"Acoustic Man". The single has gone on to win the band much acclaim, including top honors in the Ace Music Best of the Best in '94 on a compilation CD contest. Uncle KnuckleFunk scored 59 out of a possible 60 points, putting them number one among 215 contestants. This accomplishment was noted on MTV music news in 1994. In early 1994, the band compiled their first two releases as a compilation titled"Another Chunk of Funk". During this time, the band was busy recording their next full-length release called"Mt. Funkmore". It should be noted that"Mt. Funkmore" sold approximately 800 units locally its first 5 weeks, with a small marketing budget and total product sales are reaching towards 4000 units. In 1995, 96 and 97 the band was invited to showcase at the Undercurrent Music Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. Two consecutive times in a row the band appeared on the compilation CD that the conference put together and in 1996 was interviewed by a Cleveland television station for a highlight on the 11 o’clock news. The band was also showcased at the 1996 Philadelphia Music Conference. With the support of College and Major radio, UK has received airplay as far south as Florida, and in July of 1995,"Acoustic Man" was the number one request on Fort, Levinsworth prison rock radio in Kansas. Uncle KnuckleFunk has also done several live interviews on Ohio radios stations and has performed live on air. The band’s last release"Mt. Funkmore", was very popular in Toledo area jukeboxes. In 1995, this release was the number one selection at several area jukeboxes; one in particular was played over 800 times in the first 2 months. In contrast, the number two selection was played less than 100 times. The new CD entitled"MINT" was released in stores regionally in September of 1997 and was said to have been the “Northwest Ohio’s record release of the year”. The band has done over 100 shows a year. The band has played national shows with such people as Jason Bonham Band, Great White, Robin Trower, Queensryche, and Sponge. They have also played with many other national artists such as Ace Frehley, Cheap Trick, The Poor, Gov’t Mule, Sass Jordan, George Thoroughgood, Bandit Queen, Jason Bonham Band, Wild T and the Spirit, and Savoy Brown. In March of 1998, the band received the ‘Lake Erie People’s Choice Award’ in the Rock/Alternative category. This Award covers the tri-state area, which includes Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. The band was also nominated in two other categories in Toledo’s version of the Grammy’s. The band was recording a fresh new record. The CD was expected to be out by the summer of 2001. The first single release entitled"Hoochie Coohie - Rolling Stone". The follow up single is expected to be"Galaxy". A new release is in the talks so keep visiting for updates. Nothing is set in stone as of right now
