Hi my name is mark. I am a country western singer/ song writer / musician. I have played country and western music around Ireland for the last 10 years or so. I have just finished my new album “21st Century Cowboy”. I recently released my first EP to all the radio stations in Ireland and have gotten a great response. I have been invited to do interviews with most of them over the coming months. In 2005 I entered a competition on television. They were looking for Ireland’s next country star. It was a bit like the X-factor country style. The competition ran over 3 months and on the 21st of December I won! I thought this was the beginning of a bright future in the business, but I was wrong. I soon found out they were not interested in me because I didn’t do the country Irish. I was told there is no market for my music in Ireland (even though I won the competition by a land-slide!). My album is also available on my own website www.marcusprouse.com.
