Jacob"LAKE" NakagawaD.O.B.: 10/24/79Born in : San Jose CA. Owner / CEO Balpoint Ink Jacob"LAKE” Nakagawa was born and raised on the streets of San Jose, California. As a young teen, there was not a lot that Lake did not know about the world of Bay Area hip hop. Hip hop was, and still is, a way of life for Lake. In his jr. high and high school days, this former breakdancer turned producer, studied the life and lyrics of hip hop legends. Lake’s love of the hip hop culture inevitably transformed into an undeniable thirst to create anything hip hop. Some maysay that Lake took a wrong turn in life when in high school -- looking to the streets for guidance and embracing a hustler’s way of life to survive. They do not understand that Lake had no choice but to grind and fight for respect, being separated from his family at an early age. Now, the life lessons learned during that period of Lake’s life are the foundation for an unending will and determination to thrust himself and his brother into super stardom within the hip hop culture. Being a determined street hustler, this young brash beat maker decided that music was the way for him. Searching for a more lucrative and less dangerous way of life, Lake started his own record company called Balpoint Ink. Balpoint Ink was founded in 1998 and is growing at an exponential rate. With the undeniable talent and relentless pursuit of perfection, Lake has made his own way in the world and works hard to bring the Hyphy Movement and overall hip hop culture to not only San Jose, California, but the entire globe. Eric"YUNG E.N." NakagawaD.O.B : 11/27/80Born in : San Jose CA. Rapper / songwriter Eric"YUNG E.N." Nakagawa took a slightly different path than his brother. In order to keep her young son safe, their mother shipped Yung E.N. off to Hawaii to live with family. It was there that Yung E.N. learned from his older sibling's successes and failures. This two-sport athlete tried his best to stay off the streets and in the gym. An all-star basketball player and moderately talented wide receiver, Yung E.N. saw sports as his way to avoid the dangers of the street life from which his brother tried desperately to steer him. It was not until high school that Yung E.N. found his real talent and passion -- rhymes. An excellent student in all subjects, Yung E.N. excelled in poetry and creative writing. It was also during this time in Yung E.N.’s life that he became inspired by his brother's love for hip hop and street lyricists. Around 1996, a speedy rap group called Bone Thugs N Harmony brought the two brothers back together. The Nakagawa brothers realized that they shared a commonality despite growing up under differing circumstances --Yung E.N. seemed to have the capacity to memorize and deliver the speedy lyrics that most people could not even understand, while Lake had a talent in producing original beats. Learning of Yung E.N.‘s untapped ability to flow, Lake realized, that together, the brothers “could do rap.“ The rest, as they say, is history. Fueled by the need for creation, Yung E.N. began songwriting. The young intelligent rapper slowly began to translate poetry into rhythmic rhymes and began to display his feelings and insights on life for all to see and hear. The love grew into an undeniable talent that most would agree is coming into it's own in the world of hip hop. The young rapper, who thrives off of reality based lyrics and original thinking, vows to bring about a more thought-provoking way of living in the hip hop culture.
