To allow oneself to be “Covered” can be a frightening or comforting experience based on your point of view. We are no longer in control, but have yielded to a greater power. To be covered requires sacrifice on our part. It entails the very essence of dying to self. For a seed to multiply it must be planted and covered with soil. It is not within the power of the seed to germinate. Before it is capable of stretching its leaves to the sun it is buried or “covered” in a shallow grave of in dirt.  Like the seed, we must die to self. Even Jesus had to be covered for three days before he rose in all glory! The Psalmist David understood this all too well after the recognition of his transgression. Throughout the Psalms he refers to being hidden or covered under God’s wing, in His pavilion or the Shadow of the Almighty (Psalms 91).The lyrics of each of these songs are inspired not by the mountains, but the valley experiences in my life. Each song is reveals a separate chapter of a book that chronicled events as they unfolded. The Holy Spirit opened my eyes to the dangerous condition that exist when a man’s heart is alone; How to be still and be quiet in the midst of adversity; it’s better to be Holy than to be right (Galatians 5); and when all else have failed in life “Try God”.
