In 1983 San Francisco Bay Area photographer Richard Lohmann was commissioned by the San Mateo Arts Council and the Peninsula Community Foundation to photograph the regional wetlands. Four years in production, the finished work was displayed as a solo show called the Baylands Project in 1987 at the Coyote Point Museum. Lohmann had enlisted a friend of his, musician Mike Tyler, to compose music for the museum installation. The primary themes from this body of work were also released as a limited-run album at that time. This is a newly re-mastered version of that album. The music conveys a blend of influences: Brian Eno’s “Music for Airports”; some of the New Age/New Acoustic music popular at that time; and also some classic progressive rock. The album features the original version of “Sunlight Through The Clouds” that Tyler had later re-recorded with his band “The Bartron Tyler Group”.
