English and Espanol. Steel string and nylon. Folk and Flamenco. Los Dos presents all these combinations and contrasts -- plus many more – to remarkable effect, delighting fans who appreciate homespun acoustic music…with a twist. Jordan Sollitto and Jose Prieto began experimenting with a blend of their unique and disparate sounds in 2012 and have found appreciate audiences ever since. Sollitto, a Cleveland native, composes most of the duo’s original tunes. His musical perspective is decidedly country, honed in Ohio, then Tucson during the 80’s and, more recently, performing alongside the Desert Rose Band’s Herb Pedersen. When he sings the title song of their 2016 CD “No Time to Lose,” you can sense the urgency of the band’s desire to make a lot of great music in a short amount of time. And when he sings “Father Daughter Dance” poignant heartache resonates in his rich bass vocals. Jose Prieto studied classical guitar growing up in Madrid. Upon arriving in the United States he began composing for film and television as well as doing session and touring work for Latin artists including Grammy winner Jon Secada, Chayenne and more. His impeccable nylon guitar provides a lush counterpoint to the more traditional country instruments and players featured on the album.A stunning lineup of session players including Pedersen, Sara Watkins, Gabe Witcher, Jaydee Maness and more are featured on this remarkable CD.
