The 2015 album Personal Development is rather special as during the time of creation I was participating in a 1 Year level 2 Counselling skills course where i had to work on my own personal development. and during this time i gained a much deeper insight into myself and Human behavior etc. I believe we are all organic beings and like most natural living plants and animals we have the ability to self actualize. Along side the course i have already came to believe that everything we know resonates at a frequency including ourselves and there is connection between musical Sound waves and Sacred geometry. As we resonate it would be best to resonate in harmony with Nature. I have studied the likes of Audio Cymatics and chosen to tune my instruments to A=432hz rather than 440hz as 432hz vibrations are in harmony with the mathematically perfect geometries which are the very building blocks of everything we know and Science has proven this to be true. At this point in my life i feel more spiritually grounded and in tune with the world around me, Ideas and creativity flow at ease and this in turn helps channel my creative visions deep from within my heart and soul. Most of the Personal Development tracks flow into one another with no pause in between, they have depth and feeling to them potentially making them ideal for use as Soundtracks. Being a multi instrumentalist I experimented with a combination of Acoustic instruments and Electric Guitar + Analogue Synth and drums creating a mix of Ambient, Soundscape, Drum & Bass and trip hop styles. It was Track 1 Raspberry Ripple that kicked this album into production starting as a simple guitar riff on a fender squire strat with a large amount of tape delay using a Vox vt 15 guitar amp, I was also running it through a Digitech whammy pedal which has a Lovely detune effect, This set the theme in my mind and everything else naturally progressed from there. Whilst recording track 5 Meditation Time I played a Tibetan singing bowl which is naturally tuned to A 432hz this triggered emotions in me which become apparent in the mix. I hope my deep thoughts and the fact this is so personal to me does not detract you or spoil your listening pleasure, I appreciate my words may not make sense with everyone as we all have different beliefs, hopefully you will enjoy the musical vibes regardless ;) Kindest Wishes Jamie Zarfas.
